2010 Grand Marshall

Doug Crump
Doug and Francis Crump moved to Riggins from California in 1953 with three children.
Initially, Doug started working nights on the road north of town and finally was employed with
Salmon River Lumber Company until 1960. At that time, he took over operation of the Chevron Station until his retirement in 1974.
For several years, he co-owned the local TV cable company and owned the Stinker Station which is now known
as the Riggins One Stop.
He remains active in his retirement with gardening, traveling and has become an
accomplished winemaker.
Doug was one of the original organizers of the cowboy breakfast which was
started in the early 60s.
He continues to be member of the VFW, Elks, Shriners, Odd Fellows, CABS and Salmon River Community Church.
He has also served the community on the water board, city council, fire department and chamber of commerce.
But his family and friends are most proud of his service to his country as a Fighting Marine
during the big one as well as his service to our community.
His family and friends all say,
"Thank You" and we are excited that you were chosen to be this year's
Grand Marshall.
